The leading position for the Data Center Frontier February Job Spotlight is a Data Center Infrastructure PM opportunity in Reston, Va., who will be responsible for assisting with the technical aspects of proposals, presentations, and briefings, among other duties.

Data Center Infrastructure PM
Reston Va.

This position is in the booming Northern Virginia data center market. The company is in search of a Data Center Infrastructure PM that will support clients coming into a new data center while serving as the subject matter expert on all data center products, services and solutions such as white space, cabling, and electrical infrastructure. The company has expressed the ideal candidate will have experience in the mission critical data center market.

Managerial experience is a must, and a Bachelor or Arts or Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering is preferred. The PM will be responsible for assisting with the technical aspects of the proposals, presentations, and briefings, and will be expected to develop and maintain positive relationships with existing business partners in hopes to generate additional business.

According to the job description, the “primary function is to manage the installation of client space within the data center from project conception through coming online.”

Data Center Colo Sales Associate
Seattle, Wash. 

This sales position — calling for 5-10 years of industry experience — is with a leading of mission-critical data center colocation and interconnection facilities that provides data center solutions custom-fit to the requirements of their client’s mission-critical carrier neutral colocation facilities.

Responsibilities include supporting the region and pursuing sales opportunities to attract customers for their data center collocation environment and product offerings, preparing proposals, presentations, and briefings, and closing deals. Knowledge of and experience in the real estate and colocation market is required.

Mechanical Project Manager
Jamestown N.C. 

Another PM position in North Carolina is with a leading mechanical contractor that works to offer a wide range of HVAC and mechanical critical cooling service and solutions.

According to the job description, the contractor provides project management oversight for installation of HVAC and mechanical critical cooling service and solutions and HVAC and mechanical equipment and consulting expertise as it pertains to the integration of the company’s offerings greats to the critical facilities and critical infrastructure industry.

Key responsibilities include leading the planning efforts in implementing and managing the Integration of projects and timeline of specific customer projects and managing a regional team of suppliers and coordinate all deliveries of equipment with the customer’s construction contractor.

This position requires five to 12 years of experience, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is preferred.

Data Center Construction Project Manager
Denver, Colo.

Do you have experience managing data center construction projects with a design/build firm from the ground up? Then this might be the right opportunity for you.

Responsibilities include planning and organize large scale data center construction projects, putting together critical facilities construction project plans and more.

Experience managing data center construction projects with budgets between $25 million to $100 million is more is required.

Mechanical Commissioning Engineer
Dallas, Texas

This position, which requires five to 10 years of experience in the mechanical and HVAC field, is with a leader in critical facilities assessment and commissioning services. This opportunity offers projects with leading-edge technology and innovation as well as competitive salaries and benefits.

The new commissioning expert will write comprehensive reports, review design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and other documentation pertinent to commissioning, developing and administering functional tests for various building mechanical systems.

Previous data center or mission critical experience is a must.

Data Center Facility Engineer
Ashburn Va.

This leading engineering position is with a mission-critical data center developer and colocation firm that provides data center solutions custom-fit to the requirements of their client’s mission-critical operational facilities.

This position is available in Ashburn, Va., but also New York City, Philadelphia, Boston, Minneapolis and Phoenix. The company also has a variety of additional data center facilities engineering roles in additional locations across the U.S.

The firm is looking for a data center engineer to support a critical data center. The critical facility engineer will be responsible for monitoring compliance with contractual commitments, directing technical and administrative tasks related to the operation of the critical facility infrastructure and assuring compliance with company’s policies and procedures.

The position requires more than five years of experience with power, electrical and mechanical equipment, as well as experience in data center operations.

Data Center Construction Superintendent
Sunnyvale, Calif. 

The chosen new data center construction superintendent will be working for a leading mission-critical data center developer and colocation provider. The new superintendent chosen for this position is responsible for field activities associated with the project, including supervision of all field construction work by electrical and mechanical subcontractors and self-performed work.

The candidate chosen for this position, which requires five or more years of data center or critical facilities MEP construction experience, will be responsible for ensuring that the project closeout process is finalized, all resources are demobilized, and transition the project to the client
