EdgeCore Internet Real Estate has launched with plans to build large data center campuses in six North American markets. The new company is led by former CoreSite CEO Tom Ray, and its lead backer is GIC, the sovereign wealth fund for the government of Singapore.
Reno, Nevada as the new hotspot for massive cloud campuses. Google has bought land near Reno, not far from data centers for Switch, Apple and eBay – as well as the Tesla Gigafactory.
Switch has opened a 1.3 million square foot data center at its new Citadel Campus near Reno, the largest purpose-built colo center ever. The company plans more than 7 million SF of data centers in Reno.
