Peak 10 + ViaWest is continuing to expand, pushing into the Northeast with the acquisition of a data center in the Philadelphia market.
Founded in 2000, Peak 10 is one of the older providers of colocation and managed services. Peak 10 began as a regional provider focused on the Southeastern U.S. to accommodate customers of varying needs. In the summer of 2017, the company acquired ViaWest, expanding their network of data centers to the West Coast and international markets. In 2018, the companies rebranded as Flexential.

Leading data center providers have begun building larger data halls, citing construction economics and the need to compete for larger deals.
The merger mania in the data center industry continued today as Peak 10 acquired ViaWest from parent company Shaw Communications in a $1.675 billion all-cash transaction.
With new leadership, Peak 10 is looking beyond its home markets in the Southeast and ready to begin building a national data center footprint.
