Colocation provider Element Critical continues its build its data center footprint through acquisitions, and has expanded into the Texas market this year by purchasing facilities in Houston and Austin.
Switch is acquiring data center provider Data Foundry for $420 million, expanding into the Texas market. The deal provides Switch with its fifth “prime” data center region, which will include Data Foundry facilities in Austin and Houston.
A new HPC system from DownUnder GeoSolutions will immerse 40,000 servers in liquid coolant at Skybox Datacenters in Houston. The massive system is expected to deliver 250 petaflops of computing power.
