Data Center Frontier’s December job spotlight for the last month of 2018 features a new Data Center Construction Superintendent position located in Sunnyvale, Calif. The selection of highlighted jobs for this month, chosen from the Data Center Frontier Data Center Jobs Board, also features positions in Northern Virginia, Texas, New York, and Chicago.

Data Center Frontier’s job spotlight for December 2018 features a new Data Center Construction Superintendent position located in Sunnyvale, Calif.

The selection of highlighted jobs for this month also spotlight positions in Northern Virginia, Texas, New York, and Chicago.

Positions in December’s Data Center job spotlight, which were chosen from the Data Center Frontier Data Center Jobs board run in partnership with Pkaza Critical Facilities Recruiting, include roles in construction supervision, engineering, property management, commissioning and more.

California:

Data Center Construction Superintendent
Location: Sunnyvale, Calif.
This superintendent position in the colocation industry is with a leading mission-critical data center developer and colocation provider. The chosen candidate will be responsible for  field activities associated with the construction project, including supervision of all field construction work by electrical and mechanical subcontractors and self-performed work.

The chosen candidate will manage and mentor assistant project managers and other field personnel, in addition to the position’s responsibilities.

The position requires five or more years of data center and critical facilities construction experience, including experience in directing and/or supporting the commissioning effort. Budget responsibility experience must be in excess of $10 to $50 million to be considered.

MEP Coordinator
Location: Sunnyvale
, Calif.
This opportunity is with a firm that provides data center solutions custom-fit to the requirements of their client’s mission-critical operational facilities. They provide reliability of mission-critical facilities for many of the world’s largest organizations.

This MEP coordinator position includes critical facility construction in Sunnyvale, Calif. The chosen candidate, who will have five or more years of commercial or  critical facilities MEP construction experience, is responsible for the field activities associated with the project, including supervision of all field construction work by electrical and mechanical subcontractors and self-performed work.

The professional chosen for the position will share responsibility with the construction project manager for developing the project budget, actively participating in the pre-construction phase, and ensuring that the project is built on time, within budget, and according to company policies and procedures.

Virginia:

Data Center Facility Engineer
Location: Ashburn, Va.
This data center facility engineer position is with a firm that provides data center solutions custom-fit to the requirements of their client’s mission-critical operational facilities. The provider also has similar roles available in New York City, Philadelphia, Boston and more.

The company is looking for a data center engineer to support a critical data center, and who will be responsible for monitoring compliance with contractual commitments, directing technical and administrative tasks related to the operation of the critical facility infrastructure and assuring compliance with company’s policies and procedures.

The engineer chosen will have at least five or more years of relevant experience and will manage and negotiate new contracts and on board sub-contractors and vendors, among other duties.

Data Center Property Manager
Location: Ashburn, Va.
This opening for a critical facilities property manager is in the largest data center market in the country — Northern Va. The colocation provider is looking for an experienced real estate manager to manage a large colo critical facility.

The manager will be responsible for managing the entire portfolio, including operations of the entire data center, management of the IT support team, data center facilities team, local contractors and more.

The position requires five to ten years of experience in real estate management.

Lead Electrical Engineer
Location: Ashburn, Va.

This Lead Electrical engineer position is located in Data Center Alley, or Asburn, Va., and requires 10-15 years of related experience. The company also has numerous additional open data center electrical and mechanical engineering roles throughout the U.S.

The chosen candidate will manage projects, create designs and plans, provide and gather specifications, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary electrical engineering design role for complex facility design projects.

Additional duties include creating conceptual designs, overseeing the commissioning process as needed, and representing the company in project meetings.

New York:

Electrical Commissioning Engineer
Location: New York City
The Electrical Commissioning Engineer chose for this New York position will participate in daily commissioning activity meetings, which services include equipment pre-start-up and start-up procedures; Development of standard operating procedures and methods of procedures, comprehensive commissioning documentation and more.

The chosen engineer will also be required to develop and administer functional tests for various building electrical systems, such as: UPS ( Uninterruptible Power Supply), Switchgear, Generators, PDU ( Power Distribution Units ), and more.

This position requires 10-15 years of experience in the electrical field.

Texas:

Mechanical Commissioning Engineer
Location: Dallas, Texas
This open Mechanical Commissioning Engineer position is in Dallas, Texas, and requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience in the mechanical or HVAC field.

A bachelors or associates degree in the field of mechanical engineering is a big plus, and experience working in complex facilities or mission critical projects is largely desired.

The chosen candidate will participate in daily commissioning activity meetings which services include, equipment pre-start-up and start-up procedures, development of standard operating procedures, preparing commissioning test procedures and reports and more.

Construction Scheduler
Location: Dallas, Texas
This Scheduling Manager for a mission critical and data center construction position requires 10 or more years of experience, and is located in the growing Dallas data center market.

The new manager will develop project schedules for pre-construction and active construction efforts to ensure the projects are in accordance with project requirements.

The chosen candidate will also ensure, all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, and more is adhered to and interpret policies as required, as well as keeping management informed on progress of project schedule.

Chicago:

Critical Power Sales Manager
Location: Chicago, Ill.

This Critical Power Sales Manager position located in Chicago is with a data center OEM company that is a leader in the UPS industry for critical facilities on a global level. They are looking for a senior sales manager to support their team, who will support a specific region and pursue sales opportunities that are product and solution based.

The ideal candidate will possess contacts and an established rolodex of contacts in the data center and critical facilities marketplaces, and will possess 5-15 years of relevant critical power sales experience. A background in design, construction, commissioning, operations and maintenance of data centers is a huge plus.
