The Visual Edge: A Closer Look at Edge Data Center Design

Nov. 6, 2020
What does edge computing infrastructure look like? Here’s a video of some of the leading designs from players in the emerging market for edge data centers, plus links to our DCF social channels for images and video.

What does edge computing look like? In recent weeks we’ve been profiling many of the leading players in the emerging market for edge data centers (see our roundup The Emerging Players in Edge Computing). What’s clear is that edge infrastructure will embrace many different designs, ranging from traditional data centers to circular rack enclosures housed in modules.

At Data Center Frontier we believe in telling stories with images as well as words. As data center design evolves, the best way to understand the nuances of a deployment is to see what it looks like. We have put together a video review of edge infrastructure, which we’re sharing below.

For more data center imagery, please check out our DCF Instagram channel. Yes, there are data center people on Instagram! We also have created a library of hundreds of images of data center infrastructure on our DCF Pinterest channel, with boards organized by topic.

Here’s the video:

Be sure to also follow the DCF YouTube Channel, Data Center Frontier Show podcast, Facebook, Twitter and on LinkedIn. We are sharing quality data center content across all the social media channels you enjoy.
