The June Data Center Job Spotlight features two openings in Ashhburn, Va., know in the industry as data center alley — opportunities for a data center facility engineer and a MEP superintendent.

This month’s job spotlight also highlights nationwide job opportunities, including Lead CxA positions and Data Center Project Manager openings.

Lead CxA
Nationwide; Dallas, featured
This lead CxA or commissioning engineer position with nationwide opportunites is with a leader in critical facilities assessment and commissioning services, and requires 10-15 years of experience in the electrical and mechanical field. Featured locations for this position include Dallas; Ashburn, Va.; Denver, Co.; Orlando; Albuquerque, N.M.; Omaha, Neb.; and the Pacific Northwest. Chosen candidates will manage projects, plans, provide and gather specifications, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary engineering commissioning role for large facility projects.

Data Center Facility Engineer
Ashburn, Va.
These opportunities for data center facility engineers in Northern Virginia, as well as peppered across the country, are with a firm that provides data center solutions custom-fit to the requirements of their client’s mission-critical operational facilities. The firm is looking for a Data Center Engineer to support a critical data center. The Critical Facility Engineer will be responsible for monitoring compliance with contractual commitments, directing technical and administrative tasks related to the operation of the critical facility infrastructure and assuring compliance with company’s policies and procedures. This position requires five years of relevant experience, and experience with power, electrical and mechanical equipment including generators, critical and essential PDU’s, UPS, switchgear and more. 

MEP Superintendent
Ashburn, Va. 

This position is with a provide of mission-critical design build solutions. The professional chosen for the position will be responsible for field activities associated with the project, including supervision of all field construction work by electrical and mechanical subcontractors and self-performed work. The chosen candidate will also maintain liaison with primary client, A/E firm, owner’s rep firm, Construction Project Manager, subcontractors and any other vendors needed to facilitate construction activities at the data center job site. This position requires over eight years of data center/critical facilities MEP Construction experience. Project size, scope, and complexity will also be large factors in the hiring process.

Assistant Property Manager
San Antonio, Texas
This property management position is with a provide of data center colocation sites. The firm is looking for an experienced Real Estate Manager to manage a large colo critical facility. The Real Estate Manager will be responsible for managing the entire portfolio: operations of the entire Data Center; manage the financial aspect of the site and will act as the interface between client organizations. The chosen candidate will require 5-10 years of experience in real estate management.

Data Center Controls Engineering Specialist
New York City
This NYC opportunity with a engineering design and commissioning company requires 7-15 years of  data center facility operations and maintenance experience. And a Bachelor’s in Engineering is huge plus, according to the firm. Responsibilities include conducting critical facilities operations and maintenance (O&M) program analysis and reporting, designing  critical environment programs for both internal and external clients, and managing all vendors.

Data Center Facility Manager
San Jose, Calif. 
A data center developer, wholesaler and colo provider is looking for an experienced Data Center Facility Manager/Chief Engineer to support a critical data center. The Data Center Manager will be responsible for managing the operation and maintenance of the critical facility physical infrastructure systems in accordance with company’s policies and procedures. This position requires 10-15 years of data center/critical facility operations and maintenance experience, as well as experience supervising a technical staff.
