We aren’t quite into the second week of January, and the data center industry continues to grow, with open positions are popping up across the country as many firms look to meet growing demand.

This year, we kick off 2021 with a collection of data center jobs that include positions in the booming Northern Virginia data center market, as well as Montreal, Canada, two positions in San Jose, Calif., and more.

Data Center Facility Engineer
Ashburn, Va.
This opportunity is with a leading mission-critical data center developer/wholesaler/colo provider.  This firm provides data center solutions custom-fit to the requirements of their client’s mission-critical operational facilities. This position in Data Center Alley requires seven to 10 years of data center facility operations and maintenance experience. The new Engineer will be responsible for operating and managing both routine and emergency service on a variety of state-of-the-art critical systems such as: medium voltage switchgear, diesel generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers and more.

Data Center Construction Manager – Owner’s Rep
Ashburn, Va.
This opportunity is a leading provider of owner’s rep mission-critical data center construction solutions, and the company is looking for someone to assist in
planning and organizing large scale data center construction projects, and putting together critical facilities construction project plans. Experience with data constructions projects is a huge plus, and the candidate must be familiar with the design process of building systems for data center and mission critical projects.

Electrical Commissioning Engineer
Ashburn, Va.
This firm is looking for a new hire to manage projects, plans, provide and gather specifications, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary engineering commissioning role for large facility projects, and participate in a variety of daily commissioning activity meetings. Seven to 10 years of experience in the electrical field is required, and a Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is a plus.

Assistant Data Center Manager
Orlando, Fl.
This position is with a mission-critical data center managed services provider looking for an experienced Data Center Assistant Chief Engineer to support a critical data center. The Data Center Assistant Chief Engineer will be responsible for managing the operation and maintenance of the critical facility physical infrastructure systems in accordance with company’s policies and procedures. This position requires 10 or more years of data center and critical facility operations and maintenance experience

Commissioning Manager
Montreal, Canada
This opportunity is with a leading mission-critical data center developer/wholesaler/colo provider.  The new hire will manage projects, plans, provide and gather specifications, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary engineering commissioning role for large facility projects. This position requires seven to 10 years of experience in the electrical field. Verticals that the company covers include government, commercial, financial services, hospitals, or institutional in large/complex facilities and mission critical facilities.

Mechanical Commissioning Engineer
Severn, Md.
This position is with a leader in critical facilities assessment and commissioning services.  The new hire will participate in daily commissioning activity meetings which services include: equipment pre-start-up and start-up procedures; development of standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and Methods of Procedures (MOPs); comprehensive commissioning documentation; preparing commissioning test procedures and reports; maintain commissioning logs, equipment checklist, and other tools to track commissioning projects, among other tasks. This position requires 5 to 10 years in the mechanical and HVAC field. 

Data Center Facility Manager
San Jose, Calif.
This position is with a firm that provides data center solutions custom-fit to the requirements of their client’s mission-critical operational facilities. The company is looking for an experienced Data Center Facility Manager and Chief Engineer to support a critical data center. The new hire will operate and manage both routine and emergency service on a variety of state-of-the-art critical systems such as: medium voltage switchgear, diesel generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, fire detection/suppression; building monitoring systems and more. He or she will also supervise the on-site management of sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work is performed according to established practices and procedures. This position requires 10 to 15 years of data center and critical facility operations and maintenance experience.

Data Center Facility Engineer
San Jose, Calif.
This firm is looking for a Data Center Engineer to support a critical data center. The Critical Facility Engineer will be responsible for monitoring compliance with contractual commitments, directing technical and administrative tasks related to the operation of the critical facility infrastructure and assuring compliance with company’s policies and procedures. This position requires five or more years of relevant experience, as well as data center operations experience.

Data Center Controls Engineering – SME (Subject Matter Expert)
Portland, Ore.
This opportunity is with a leader of mission-critical data center colocation and interconnection facilities. The company is looking for a new hire to conduct critical facilities Operations and Maintenance (O&M) program analysis and reporting, design Critical Environment Programs for both internal and external clients, manage all controls vendors to ensure compliance with company guidelines and policies, act as SME for all controls, and more. This position requires six to 10 years of data center facility operations and maintenance experience, and a Bachelors in Engineering is a huge plus.

Environment Health & Safety Director (EHS)- Critical Facilities
Denver, Colo.
This mission-critical data center developer/wholesaler/colo provider is looking for a new EHS Director to implement health and safety standards and principles, policies, and practices including but not limited to; safety management systems, training, risk assessments, assist with industrial hygiene assessments, and applicable safety regulations, among other related duties. A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or a related in science/engineering discipline is required, as well as a minimum of 7 or more years of progressive experience in EHS, with demonstrated knowledge and experience controlling the broad spectrum of risks across multiple sites.

MEP Superintendent – Data Center
College Station, Texas
This position is with a firm that builds mission-critical facilities for data center facilities nationwide. The new superintendent will be responsible for field activities associated with the building project, including supervision of all field construction work by electrical and mechanical subcontractors and self-performed work. This position requires eight or more years of data center and critical facilities MEP Construction experience. 

Department Head Electrical Engineer
New York, N.Y.
MEP Engineering Firm that has established itself as a regional leader in the Engineering Consulting market. They are looking for a new Department Head Electrical Engineer, and experience in the healthcare, commercial or critical facility sectors is a huge plus. This position requires 15 or more years of experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
